The Hidden Treasures of Maphrao Bay
2 or 3–Day tour
This is truly a wonderful experience; our first stop will be at Taphao Island for a nature walk up to the very old light house with its spectacular panoramic views of Phuket.
This island has an old small naval base; they take care of the light house as well as feed the many families of Hornbills that reside on the island, a great place to observe these wonderful birds. This is such a peaceful island with very old trees and lush jungles with lots of butterflies and birds to see.
Then it's a trip down a forgotten water way the Thi Chin Canal, through the main fishing port of Phuket under the bridge and out into the Thai villages and mangroves that are usually never experienced by tourists.
The next bay is Maphrao Bay, which is very shallow, but our flat bottom boat can transit the bay without a problem and then proceed into a narrow strait between Maphrao Island and Phuket. Here there are floating restaurants and we will spend the night, under the glorious stars, tied up to one of them and be served a great seafood supper. Later on you can visit the other restaurants by kayak, which is so much fun for everyone!
The next morning you will wake up to the call of the sea birds and the glassy, serene water conditions, which are normal in these protected waters. Coffee, eggs and bacon for breakfast in the open air, what a treat!
Then we are off to Rang Island where you can witness a fabulous pearl display, go for a walk on the lovely clean beach and through the coconut trees to see the other side of this beautiful island. You can swim, kayak and generally have fun. We'll then slowly cruise back to Chalong Bay stopping at interesting places along the way.

Each boat trip has its minimum cost. This includes charter fee, fuel, the wages for the crew and plenty of food, snacks, drinks and fruit. Also kayaking, fishing and snorkeling equipment is included.
